FAQ

General

  1. Is Team Lesbian just for women?

The short answer to this question is yes.  We work with and for women in the lesbian community.  However if you're a member of the LGBT community and are looking for some sort of help or advice, please feel more than welcome to contact us and if we cannot help you with your issue, we will be sure to direct you to someone that can!  Thank you!

  2. What sites can I find Team Lesbians on?

Team Lesbians can be found on the following

    Twitter: @TeamLesbians

    Facebook: Team Lesbians Page

    Tumblr: @TeamLesbians

  3. How can I stay up to date with Team Lesbians?

The best way to stay up to date with Team Lesbians is by following any one of our sites and of course our main web page: Twitter, Tumblr, and Facebook.

  4. Is there an age limit for Team Lesbians?

Age is dependant on what the site is being used for.  To participate in general chats, there is no age limit; however chats, topics or forums that are geared to adult age groups do indeed have an age limit restriction, which is 18+.

To participate in any of the contest, showcases, or activities that take place on the site, Twitter, Tumblr and/or Facebook, you also have to be 18+.  For an example, if you are under the age of 18, you are excluded from participating in the "featured singles" activity.

  5. What are the rules associated with Team Lesbian's contests and activities?

*No nudity is allowed in any of the pictures that are posted on the teamlesbians.com domain for any reason.  All pictures found to be inappropriate, will be removed WITHOUT warning.

For any activites and contests that are associtated with Team Lesbian's, ALL participants must be 18 years and older due to various laws in the United States (this does not include follower question & answer sessions , articles, interviews or advice forums on the Team Lesbian Twitter page or our other sites.)

Some contests and activities will have specific rules that will be listed at the time of the event.  Outside of that, all information that is asked for within the application MUST be given and participants knowingly take the chance on becoming disqualified or banned from such activities by providing false information.  We reserve the right to change any of the rules at any time.

*forums*: Please remain tasteful and respectful when leaving comments on the forms/blog sections.  Of course, everyone will not always share the same opinions but there is no need to be rude.  unnecessary acts simply will not be allowed on teamlesbians.com

Please view the disclaimer section on the FAQ page to view full rights and responsibilities of Team Lesbian's and its members.

  6. How did Team Lesbians come to be?

I started Team Lesbians on Twitter in May of 2010.  Initially, my main reason for creating the page was to find other lesbians that were on Twitter without having to constantly search through the hashtags.  I never expected Team Lesbians to take off the way that it did and I never imagined having so many followers.  I have always been passionate about connecting with and helping other LGBTQ individuals that face innumerous struggles due to their lifestyle, so I decided to turn Team Lesbians into an actual company in January 2012.

It has been a very long, enjoyable and rewarding journey and I pray that it does not end anytime soon.  In January 2012, several moves were made to make Team Lesbians official.  Some have come and some have gone, but the brand is and always will be here to stay!  So that about sums up the history of Team Lesbians; although, I see the story continuing to grow in the coming years.

  7. What do I do if I run into problems with another member of TeamLesbians.com

If a member of the site is harrasing you in any manner, please email me at teamlesbians@gmail.com.  Be sure to include your name, the name of the harraser and a description of the incident.  If that particular individual is found to be a problem, they will be removed, temporarily banned, or permanently banned.

Be sure not to confuse a debate with harrasement.  If someone will not leave you alone, if they make rude and uncessary demeaning, racially charged or otherwise derogatory comments, they will be handled accordingly.

Using the site

  1. How do I add pictures?

To add a photo to your profile, scroll to the top of the page and on the right side of the page under "Members Area", select "Edit Profile".  The second option on the edit profile screen will be to add a photo.  Click on the browse button, locate the image and click to submit the photo.  Voila, you're done!

*Please know that by providing us with any pictures that you are 1. claiming ownership of the supplied photos, and 2. are giving us (Team Lesbians, its owners, and staff members) expressed permission to use those supplied images on any of our sites at our will. Images may be used on www.teamlesbians.com or any of our other affiliate sites. Images may be used by Team Lesbians, the website and/or its staff.

  2. How do I add additional Pictures?

For the time being, although it is not the simplest or even most logical, to add additional photos to your profile, you must scroll to the top of the page and click on "photos" in the link section; alternatively, you may click here, photos.

You have to add an album with your uploaded images.  Those images will then show up under the "photos" tab on your profile.  I am working on trying to get this method changed but for the moment, it is unfortunately the only way!

  3. How to I post to the forums?

To post in the forum, click on "Start Discussion" in the upper right corner of the forum, and select the category that you want to post under.  After completing your post, click on "submit".

Alternatively, if you want to post while in a certain category (while in that category), click on "New Topic" and follow the directions above!

  4. Where are my friend requests?

To access any friend requests that you may have, under the "Members Area" on the upper right hand side, click "inbox".  The 4th tab will say "Friend Requests", any friend requests that you have will be found there.

  5. How do I add photos to my posts in the forum?

To add a picture to the forum, you need to link it by hosting the image.  You can use an external image hosting site such as photobucket or copy the link from sites the picture is already on such as facebook, twitter, downelink or blogs.  To do this, find your picture on the website, right click and click "copy image location" (<--different browser may call it different names.)

After you have copied the image location of the picture, click on the picture symbol in the forum text box and paste the link, the image will then show.  If you use a hosting website such as photobucket, arrow over the image and click "direct link" and paste that information.

As a last ditch effort, if all else fails, you may go to the photo section of www.teamlesbians.com and create an album.  Add the picture you want and then after it posts, copy the image location.  DO NOT DELETE THE PHOTO ONCE YOU HAVE ADDED IT TO AN ALBUM because it will also delete the image in the forum as the picture will no longer be hosted.

If I have confused you in anyway, please send me a message or an email to teamlesbians@gmail.com and I will walk you through the process!  Thank you!

Netiquette

  1. What is netiquette?

In short, netiquette is simply the rules that apply while communicating over the internet.  These "rules" may change from site to site, but the basic concepts of netiquette apply on Team Lesbians!

    Simply put:

Handle situations as you would in real life, respect others time and opinions, respect people's privacy, do not become overly rude or hurtful, and don't abuse your power or the power of others. I am sure others apply, but it's really exercising common sense overall!

  2. Can I respond to someone's posts or pictures?

Yes you can.  It is actually prefered that you start topics, reply to other's topics and/or photos.  But please do not be rude, distasteful or hurtful.  Keep it respectful and be mindful that not everyone will share your opinion and that is ok!

All comments deemed unnecessary or out of line will be removed and the individual will be warned, 2nd issue will result in a temporary ban of that member and a 3rd will result in a permanent ban, unless for some reason the first or second is just out of this world!  Team Lesbians reserves the right to remove any and all content that goes against the rules at anytime WITHOUT prior notice!

Unfortunately at this time, we have no plans to add anyone to the core of the Team Lesbian organization for several reasons.  We are just now beginning to take the company to the levels that we always dreamed were attainable and added someone else to the mix could possibly be disaterous in such a fragile state.  HOWEVER, we will soon be adding a few admins to help us with the facebook page and in the not so distant future, I would love to add a few members to the company as we grow our brand and implement new changes!

We'll be keeping and eye out and if you catch our eyes...who knows what could happen!
